Jodi M. Terzich is a founding partner at Terzich & Ort, LLP. With a legal career spanning nearly three decades, Jodi’s practice is dedicated exclusively to family law, offering clients compassionate and strategic guidance through complex family matters. Her practice focuses on divorce — including custody and parenting time, child support, division of property (including real estate and business interests), and spousal maintenance — as well as custody/paternity actions, orders for protection, and post-decree modifications. She also handles select stepparent and adult adoption matters.

Jodi earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1991 and her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in 1997. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Margaret Shaw Johnson in Minnesota’s Third Judicial District. Before beginning her legal career, she worked in the mental health sector — an experience that continues to shape her empathetic, client-centered approach.
Since 2001, Jodi has focused exclusively on family law, helping clients establish realistic expectations and encouraging creative, practical solutions to resolve disputes — whether through negotiation, mediation, or litigation. She also has extensive experience in identifying, valuing, and protecting non-marital assets, and works diligently to ensure her clients’ property rights are preserved throughout the divorce process.
Jodi’s professional excellence has been recognized throughout her career. She was named a “Rising Star” in 2006 and 2007 and has been consistently selected for inclusion in Minnesota Super Lawyers since 2009. She was also named one of the Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in Minnesota in 2010 and 2014.
Raised as a farmer’s daughter in East Central Minnesota, Jodi developed a disciplined work ethic that she applies to every aspect of her legal practice. This background shapes her approach, ensuring that she works tirelessly to protect her clients’ interests and achieve their goals.
